Lens Hacking

The Echo Glow is a connected interactive lamp for kids.
Sam was the lead electrical engineer from concept through mass production and sustaining. He helped refine the feature set and specifications, designed the PCB, and led the validation effort.

Leonard the lens controller runs on an ATTiny microcontroller. When the camera takes a picture, a signal is relayed from the hotshoe to the microcontroller, which then uses a series of discrete H-bridges to control the lens coils as desired.
